Day 94: Civitavecchia/Rome

Today's port is in the Town of Civitavecchia, Italy which is the closest port to Rome. Since it was just a single day, a long ride to get to Rome, probably large crowds on Easter Monday and since we have been there before, we decided on a more local excursion (Pasta making)

They might need a new coat of paint on this wall

Driving through town

Local Farmhouse and Cooking Demonstration
Journey into the countryside, where you'll be welcomed by local owners to their farmhouse and to the quintessential Italian way. Here, you'll learn how to prepare and cook an authentic Italian meal, featuring a signature pasta dish and decadent dessert. Choose your ingredients, then perfect your pasta-making technique so you'll be able to cook up a feast for your family and friends back home. Under the guidance of your host, your hands-on demonstration culminates with a sit-down meal of your own creation, accompanied by wonderful Italian wine.
What you will see along the way:
Travel north through the countryside that was once covered in vineyards and olive groves. This was the home of the Etruscans. This mighty civilization of seafarers, merchants and farmers populated this region about 5,000 years ago and was eventually folded into the Roman Empire. Today, you'll gaze upon remnants of their civilization as you enjoy the expansive pastoral landscapes that lead to your farmhouse destination.
Lunch:
Don an apron and prepare an authentic Italian feast, which will be served as your lunch. Savor Italy's scrumptious cuisine when you dine on crunchy bruschetta, ham salami, homemade pasta (prepared during the pasta-making experience), a decadent dessert, wine, soft drinks, mineral water, and coffee. The idyllic surroundings are as lovely as the meal.

First thing we saw was the robot lawn mower cutting the grass

A McDonalds

A memorial to all those killed by the mafia

They have a large statue based on the WWII V-E Day picture

And we saw a proposal under the statue

Back at the port showing our love for Italy

Our Room Steward rearranged our easter bunnies

Our neighbor cruise ship pulling out before us

They have a water slide

A neat Italian cruise ship painted with super heroes. I know our cousin Harrison would love this

You can tell it is chilly but the number of people out by the pool and the Movie under the Stars (no one out there)
