Day 58: The Road to Singapore

A day at Sea on the "Road" to Singapore

While we watched the recent Crazy Rich Asians to get ready for Singapore (as a lot of spots we will see are in the movie), the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope/Dorothy Lamour film The Road to Singapore was an earlier movie about Singapore. But that movie was all filmed in the Hollywood. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_to_Singapore)

Besides the many boats, we saw a platform nearby

Dinner (Note: while the menus and food pics might be boring and repetitive, just want to document our activities so we can look back at it one day)

Appetizers

In between dinner and the Captain's Cocktail party, we walked the deck looking at the sunset.

With the first two segments of the cruise and our previous cruise (in 1993) we are now Platinum level Princess passengers.  One of the perks is getting invited to a Captain's Cocktail Party. They had some nice flower arrangements and were passing out drinks.

The party included recognizing the three passengers with the most cruises and cruise days. And they hold a drawing and give a bottle to Champaign to three couples.  We were the third name pulled out of the hat!

They had a show that highlighted the talents of some of the crew members. From a carpenter, to waiters, to security officers to deck/pool staff, the music was outstanding.
