Day 19, Jan 23rd At Sea

We are getting closer to Hawaii. At noon the Captain said we were about 360 nautical miles away.  Plenty of things on the Patter. Toni's craft today was decorating a hat with Flowers.  She said she is ready for Easter with this hat.

They had a special Pub lunch today. Fish and Chips, and Bangers and Mash were the choices.

Toni spent time looking for whales, dolphins, or any fish but didn't see any. Though we did get to see all the different ways the waves were breaking and even some rainbow colors.

For dinner, Toni got 3 Cs tonight, the Caprese, Calamari and Cobb Salad.  Rob got the Calamari and Jamaican Shrimp.

Well what better way to watch Top Gun: Maverick than on a ship at sea, under the stars and planets. Ok, it would be cooler on an aircraft carrier but this was still cool.  And maybe with it a little warmer and no sprinkles!  But they had blankets for us.

At the beginning of the film, Jupiter was in view above the screen. I thought it was moving back in forth in the sky but realized it was us moving in the waves

We waited for the credits to see the various call outs to some of our Navy organizations and teams.  We did get to see the some of one of our friends, LCDR Garth Blakely, Gary's son, who was XO at TopGun when the movie was being filmed.

And then just when some of the other references were about to come up...  Oh well, it was still a fabulous way to see a great movie!!

Tomorrow is Honolulu! The first of two days in our 50th state, Hawaii.
