Day 22, Jan 26, At Sea for Pens-Caps game and Jared's Birthday

We are heading south, southeast from Hawaii enroute to Tahiti. It was a little wavey and overcast as we woke up this morning. While we were having breakfast, the bridge came on and said some rain would be coming in.  We were able to watch as the cloud came closer and closer until it started raining.  Was only a quick rain.

Besides crafts this morning, if you wanted to be a participant in the Crossing the Equator ceremony in a few days, you had to sign up.  This ceremony is a little bit like something on Nickelodeon so should be fun (more on that as we get closer).

The craft today was origami box making.

Decided to try the casino out for the first time. Toni hit a good

At noon, the bridge came on and said we were 356 nautical miles from Kauai (200 Nautical Miles from the Big Island of Hawaii) and 2070 nautical miles from Tahiti. And the sea bottom is 16,500 feet below us!!

We took some time to sit on our balcony. Toni with her portable Lounge chair out on the balcony.

Besides this blog, there is another one covering Toni's cousin's grandson Brayden's Flat Stanley that is going around the world too.  (https://braydenflatstan.blogspot.com/) And while Flat Stanley Brayden is having fun on the Island Princess, tonight the real Brayden took Flat Stanley Rob and Toni to the Caps-Pens game in DC. He even put Rob in Black and Gold for the game.  The game will be at 2 pm here on the ship.

While it is only a 5 hour difference,  it is easy to forget what time it is.  We almost missed sending birthday wishes to our nephew Jared before the day ended in the Eastern Time zone.  But we get to celebrate for him for another 5 hours!!

Very interesting show tonight. Xylosynth is a combination of a xylophone and a synthesizer.

Crooner's Bar Sing-a-long to end the evening.
