Sailing away, January 5

 Boarding

Checked out of hotel with a loaded van. Think we missed all of the Island Princess passenger that had left the ship as their cruise. Headed to fill up before taking to Rental Car back.

They checked our Passports at the Gate and then in a few minutes, we were there, Drove right up to the Terminal. Our Porter took care of us and all of luggage.

After Rob returned the Rental and came back, we started the boarding process.

We made it the last part of the boarding process before going on ship

As we started boarding we got the first glimpse of the Ship, As we crossed bridge, Toni was ready for the next step, the first step onboard.

Onboard the Island Princess

The Atrium

While they were cleaning our room, we checked out the Upper Decks, including the pools and Spa.

And grabbed a quick bite to eat Pizzeria... and drink.

Our Room!

Not as big as ours at home but bigger than our camper!!

Sail Away!

As the time to leave the dock was getting close, Princess had a Sail Away party on the top decks.

Dinner Time

Provence Dining Room

Garlic Prawns for appetizer

Rob had Mahi Mahi and Toni Pork Tenderloin

Desert, Rob had the Bananas Foster and Toni the Creme Brulee

When we got back to the room, there were some surprises. First the Buckeyes were on (tough loss) and second, our friends Tracey and Andrew got us snacks for sailing away

.

Shrimp Cocktail, Chips, Salsa and Guacamole, and canapes.

Some of the canapes were caviar.  We haven't got Toni to try Anchovies at our McKeegan Christmas eve, so caviar definately was a bridge too far.  But Rob is always willing to try something new!

We put up our world map to chart our path.

Door decorations are up

One of the channels has our realtime location. We were between Bermuda and the Florida Keys, heading almost due south at 20 Knots (a little over 23 MPH)

That was a busy first day.
